A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin

4.0

The first time reading this was such a mindf**k. I kind of regret liking this series both because of how long its been since book 5 and how disappointing season 8 was. I wasn't as critical as most people on the internet were but I was still kind of crushed. More so that the things that they flat out just gave to us could have been really awesome if given even another season or two to incubate. But this review is sort of about the book...

My recommendation is come here if the show left you wanting more, if you're a super-duper slow reader or if you just wanna see what all the hype used to be about. These books really are a great way to break into modern fantasy if you feel like modern fantasy could use a few more historical allegories behind it's narrative.
