The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America's Great Migration by Isabel Wilkerson

5.0

I learned a lot from this book, which uses fascinating, detailed accounts of three people’s lives to illustrate the causes, effects, joys and hardships of the Great Migration. There is also data and research that puts their stories into context. That context was sometimes repetitive, almost as if some chapters/passages were designed to be able to stand alone, but that is my only criticism of an otherwise enlightening and engrossing book.
