The Viscount Who Loved Me by Julia Quinn
4.0

"Now then," he said, once their feet began to move in the familiar steps, "suppose you tell me why you hate me." Kate trod on his foot. Lord, he was direct. "I beg your pardon?" "There is no need to maim me, Miss Sheffield."

I'm extremely surprised how much I enjoyed this book. The Duke and I was a fantastic book but It made me hate Anthony. He was such an ass to everyone around him and had very few good qualities to him. So I was a little hesitant going into The Viscount Who Loved Me. I am however glad to say it may just be better than book one by a little smidge.

It had been the most vivid erotic dream he'd ever experienced. And his worst nightmare.

Anthony is on the hunt for a wife, he has a check list and refuses to stray from it. His wife must be moderately pretty, have impeccable manners (so she does not embarrass him in public) and hold family in high esteem so that when they have children she will be a wonderful mother. But the most important thing on his list is to choose a wife he will under NO circumstances fall in-love with. You see Anthony 'knows' he will not surpass his fathers age of 38, so he refuses to leave behind a woman he loves. Edwina Sheffield matches his list perfectly, however Anthony was not expecting her meddlesome older sister Kate to make it so hard to attain a wife. Nor was he expecting the mounting desire he has for the infuriating woman.

It was funny, he reflected later, how one's life could alter in an instant, how one minute everything could be a certain way, and the next it's simply ... not.

It was extremely amusing to watch Anthony and Kate together, I'm surprised no one lost a limb in the process. He most definitely met his match in this book and put him in his place more than once. They were so nasty to each other that I had doubts if the book was going to have a happy ending, but by the end of the book Anthony was my favorite Bridgerton son. I also found it interesting the way Anthony obsessed over death and his certainty of not living past 38, I appreciated the authors notes on his fears and it helped me understand the situation a lot better. I'm loving this series at the moment and can't wait for Colin's book, this is fast becoming one of my favorite Historical Romance Series ever.

Was it possible to fall in love with the same man over and over again, every single day?
