Another terrific war time thriller, my second by this author. Based on a true story, it’s the daring tale of a joint British/Norwegian mission to destroy a heavily fortified heavy water factory in remote Norway. Stopping this project was vital no matter at what cost or risk to life. Failure would lead to the Nazis being the first to develop an atomic weapon. After months of gruelling training in the Scottish highlands and numerous delays, the team of brave Norwegian resistance fighters was dropped into the harsh and potentially deadly terrain of Norway at its least hospitable. Their critical mission was perilous with a high degree of difficulty but each man was prepared to give his life. A page-turning, high adrenaline read full of adventure with a great cast of characters, and wonderful descriptions of the unforgiving but beautiful Norwegian landscape.
