You Are Not So Smart: Why You Have Too Many Friends on Facebook, Why Your Memory Is Mostly Fiction, and 46 Other Ways You're Deluding Yourself by David McRaney

lighthearted fast-paced

2.5

This book is fine as mild entertainment. The writing is conversational and fun, and some of the conclusions are heartwarmingly optimistic.
That said, it quotes so many long-debunked studies and findings that are nearly 80 years old, even when making jokes that Freud and his like were useless boobs because of their lack of tools or facts. I mean, I love dunking on Freud as much as the next guy, but pot, met kettle.
A lot of projections and specious statements about a massive pile of bad studies and evolutionary psychology. A lot of studies on rats and dogs.

It's hard to sit back and enjoy this entertaining junk science in a time that people believe everything they read.
