Interesting concept and gorgeous artwork but the story itself was forgettable. I read it a few months ago and the story has slipped away from me before I sat down to review it.

It struck me as quite Enola Holmes- a very self consciously quirky period piece. Perhaps one I read at the wrong time in my life- I think I may have been more drawn to it in my teens.
