As soon as you start reading this book you know it’s going to deliver something different. 

The unique style propels us into an emotional journey that is at times extremely difficult to read and equally hard to stop. 

Telling a story that focuses on complex characters trauma and relationships can be messy, but the author does an excellent job of handling this sensitively and thoughtfully. Whilst such a tangled web can mean that it is sometimes difficult to always like the characters (as is true to life) Aster does an amazing job of ensuring we still understand them, and can resonate with their story. 

The quick pacing does a fantastic job of compelling us to read on, and the dialogue and relationships between the characters is portrayed beautifully. 

The author does include a content warning, which is important for stories such as this, and though handled deftly this story may still prove challenging for some to read. If you need to reach out for help, check the Samaritans website.
