A Million Little Pieces
by James Frey
This is one of those things that people could argue about for days. Memoir (in my opinion) is not about absolute truth. It's about personal truth (which we all know can look an awful lot like lies to others). That being said, I never paid attention to what was lies and what was not. We are talking about addiction here (and isn't lying sometimes a part of that). I just want to say that it was an amazing read. I agree that if it's mostly made up than he should have called it fiction (albeit that was based on his own experience). However, the line between truth and lies is often thin or blurry.
