Such a stunning book, from cover to cover. With rich and immersive storytelling, the world immediately pulls you in and the stakes of the story rise instantly. There is such amazing commentary on power imbalances, familial abuse, discrimination, and found family- and this whole book feels very relatable to the human experience. The plot is fast-paced and very cleverly written, but I found that the ending lacked a little bit in terms of satisfaction... maybe a second book is in the works? However, I still recommend for any fantasy lover, it's a fairly light fantasy read with original concepts & emotional depth.
