This book was bad. Plain and simple. It reads like poorly written, unedited fan fiction. I would expect a writer to improve their craft with each book, for the characters to change and grow, for the lord to go deeper; this book did none of that.
There’s no plot. Nothing happens. It’s a Hallmark holiday special minus any amount of drama. At least there was less winking and sticking out of tongues in this one. Instead it was all snorting and vulgar gestures. Does this author not have access to a thesaurus?!
It was disgustingly saccharine and cloying. Just constantly ‘I love you’ and ‘you’re beautiful’. The characters are annoyingly juvenile. I mean I get that she wants to show a casual and loving family, but this goes well beyond that.
I mean I went into this need a fluffy book after the emotional ride that was the previous read, but holy crap snacks, this was more than fluffy. This was a nice fluffy pillow smashed against a wall and the fluff just floating around everywhere chocking me to death.
I have nothing positive to say about this book. It is uninspired and boring.
