Kingdom Cold
is a Young Adult novel about Charlotte and Young. Charlotte, a princess that has to marry another prince in order to save her kingdom.

When I received this, I didn’t really have any expectations because I’d never heard of this author or book before, so I wasn’t sure if I was going to like Kingdom Cold or not. But I wanted to give this book a chance because the author herself contacted me and because the synopsis sounded really promising.

I’m glad that I did pick up this book because I finished it in one day. The story was so fast paced and well written, I couldn’t get enough of it. The chapters were also on the short side, which made it really easy to fly through this book. I also really enjoyed the multiple POVs so you really got to know the characters.

The writing is rather simple, but in a positive way. You don’t get distracted because you can understand everything. English isn’t my mother language so sometimes I struggle with difficult words that I’ve never heard before and in a physical copy you cannot tap the word and the dictionary will give a definition (like with ebooks). So as I mentioned before, the simple writing is something positive, you can easily read this book in a few hours.

I also really liked the characters, especially our main character, Charlotte. At the beginning she’s kind of a brat and she doesn’t want to understand that this marriage is necessary for the survival of her kingdom. But at the end of the book, you could definitely tell that Charlotte’s grown into a woman.

I really liked Kingdom Cold and I secretly hope for a sequel about Minseo!
