the whole situation is on the NEWS now how crazy!! it's wild that they're somehow going to wrap this up in the next 3 books, especially considering that in this book, jake is super depressed and not talking to cassie - the whole gang is still very divided
i like how no-nonsense and downright cool the governer was. also a cool touch that she was a woman but everyone had assumed it would be a guy. idk how realistic it was that she just accepted the mind controlling alien invasion story, but i guess she did have a fair amount of evidence, being confronted by an actual alien and kids who could morph. i don't know how i would actually react in real life if that happened - having read so much fiction about it, would i believe it if i saw it in front of me?
