Carter Beats the Devil by Glen David Gold

3.0

I loved the first half of this book. It really got me in Carter's childhood, but the end of that part was completely unsatisfactory. Still, I kept going and liked it well enough. But about half way through, I just got bored. The story meandered along with twists and turns that I didn't even care about most of the time. I really just wanted the story to be over with. I ended up skipping a lot near the end just so I could finish. I would have given this only 2 stars, but the first half bumped it up another star. Eh.
