Cleat Cute by Meryl Wilsner
4.0

I listened to Cleat Cute on audio and really enjoyed it. It was a quick, engaging read that kept me interested from start to finish. I especially liked the alternating first-person narration between Grace and Phoebe. It gave great insight into both characters and helped the story feel balanced.

I know some readers found Phoebe a bit much, but I actually loved her energy and personality. If anything, I found Grace more frustrating at times. She often felt overly cautious or lacking confidence, and I wished she would step into her own a little more. That said, their chemistry was great and the emotional arc felt authentic.

I also enjoyed the soccer backdrop. It was fun to learn more about the sport, and I appreciated how it was woven into their relationship and personal growth. I’ve heard there might be a series in the works based on this book and I’m so excited for that. We need more women’s sports stories and more coverage of sapphic athletes.

Definitely a fun and worthwhile read.
