If I was a catholic I think I would have loved this. But it was slow and stressful and the parable nature of the story wasn’t for me. Like, almost too tied up and perfect at the end and all because of a faith in god. Sure yeah I cried at the end but if I had spent 400 pages and didn’t cry when the thing happened then it wouldn’t have been worth the 400+ pages.
Other thoughts: don’t love how women are portrayed, dialogue felt forced, chapters and pages could easily have been cut, and I don’t like the whole travel the world bit for the same reasons I didn’t like it in Eat Pray Love
