Attached: The New Science of Adult Attachment and How It Can Help You Find and Keep Love by Amir Levine

3.0

Relationships are not easy, but they can be understood. I have made it a point to continue reading about love and relationships. So, in light of Valentine's Day I picked this one. I have heard the term Attachment Theory in many other books that I have read. I wanted to get my foot in the door on this field of study in hopes that I would find some of the insights useful. This book likely serves as a great starting place for readers new to relationship psychology and relationship studies, but for me it served as more or less a book of reminding me of ways to think about interacting with my spouse. This book is really great for anyone who wants to learn more about their attachment style and ways to avoid the pitfalls. However, this book is even more useful for those with an anxious or avoidant attachment style. However, on the whole I tend to get more from [a:John Gottman|18941589|John Gottman|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/user/u_50x66-632230dc9882b4352d753eedf9396530.png] on relationships. Yes, this book is insightful, but it didn't get as deep into it as I wanted. For that reason this book is digestible. It also serves as a great way to determine your attachment style as well as your significant other's attachment style. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and it has made me curious of other books that have expanded on the subject of attachment theory.
