4/5.
Being the third Sandra Brown book that I've read, I had really high expectations going into this book, but "Friction" did not let me down.
Like all of Brown's books, this book kept me on the edge of my seat. Every chapter ends on a cliff hanger which made me want to continue reading. The book is very fast paced and the author did a very good job at keeping the plot moving and I was completely taken by surprise by the twist and turns.
Unlike The Collector by Nora Roberts, I really enjoyed the romance aspect of this book. I never felt like the relationship between Crawford and Holly was pushed, rather it felt natural and I ended up really rooting for them in the end. They are both spitfires in their own way and their relationship really complements their strengths and weaknesses.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. If you are a bit underwhelmed by recent thrillers, I highly recommend this book. It will not let you down.
