Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything
by Steven D. Levitt, Stephen J. Dubner
Automatic one point deducted for referencing Switzerland in the gun control discussion without pointing out that while every male is issued a gun, they are not allowed to store ammunition. This, of course, makes me skeptical of any findings in this book.
That being said, I loved the book. It reads as easily as fiction. The style of discussion is very similar to how I like to discuss subjects with a few friends who also believe that the answers to problems are usually not found in a meme or through talking points.
Hardcore liberals and conservatives would probably not enjoy the book - it basically challenges the basics of their belief systems.
While I agree with other reviews that the "name" section was the weakest - I still found it interesting as I have a daughter named Katherine.
