The Opal Deception by Eoin Colfer
3.0

I'm glad I was late jumping on the Artemis Fowl bandwagon. I actually feel like I wouldn't have liked or appreciated the series as much if I'd read it when I was younger (or the intended audience age).
One thing I didn't like was how jumpy the transitions were. Colfer usually goes between the fairy world and our world, at least in the beginning of his other books, but the shifts between worlds seemed especially disjointed this time. Part of it might simply be the nature of the story with Artemis' mind wipe and everything, but, for some reason, I found it really unnerving how Colfer kept jumping from scene to scene.
