Always happy to check in with Greil Marcus. This is a quick read. Three personal essays, in Greil's flowing, associative style. For how concise it is, it maybe isn't the cleanest edit. But I've always loved his enthusiasm, and his ability to drill down into a given work of art (be it a painting, song, or film) before expanding his scope into his personal cultural canon.
