What a cute little book! The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches reminded me a lot of The House in the Cerulean Sea, but with witches. Mika Moon grew up with her guardian Primrose because her parents died, and her parents died because Mika Moon's mother was a witch, just like her. There is a curse when a witch has a baby the parents die shortly after.

Mika is part of a group of witches that meets every three months and is led by Primrose. Witches do not associate with one another for fear of there being too much magic and them being exposed. So they settled on meeting once every three months. But because of this Mika feels a bit lonely and wants to express herself to the world so she creates an online persona who pretends to be a witch. But little did everyone know that she actually was a witch, and they were actually watching her do real magic, that is until someone saw one of her videos and instantly knew she was a witch.

Mika receives a message, more of a plea, to go to Nowhere House in a small village to teach three little witches. The house is owned by an archaeologist who is always off on an adventure, a retired actor, a gardener, a caretaker, and a handsome librarian.

Mika goes against what she has always been taught, how witches should not be together, and helps teach the three girls. But mischievous magic isn't the only threat that she will have to face.

If you want a quick light read, some romance, and some magic, then you should absolutely read this book. I had a hard time putting it down. It may be after halloween but you can use some magic all year round.
