The second book in the Godkiller series went about how I expected. There were so many points in the book where I felt such hope, such a wanting and willing for things to turn out a certain way or for the story to go in a specific direction. But it didn't. And that was for the better, I feel like the author took me on a journey with each of these characters. There's something to be said about the writing when you can get swept in the story, in the nuance of these people's fictional lives, and the very human decisions that they make.
