This book was a disappointment tbh. Damien behaved so irrationally and he was a big hypocrite. He lied to Aaliya about his whole life and decived her for five years, yet calls her the liar. All the time, he either ignored her, hurt her or doubted her and I expected her to make him grovel but she forgave everything way too quickly which got on my nerves. And all the OW drama with that crazy b**ch was just unbearable. In the middle of this, I felt so bad for Aaliyah, Gabe and Jonathan. All they wanted to do was genuinely help and Damien constantly pushed them away. Also, it was quite ridiculous that his investigator Mike could find all the information on Aaliya but couldn't gather proof about his actual attacker. The entire book was just dedicated to the push and pull between Damien and Aaliya and him being an a**hole for quite a while. I hope he grovels in the next book, because I want to see him face the consequences of how he behaved with Aaliya initially. Amnesia was no excuse for him to treat her like that and let his mother and the clingy b**ch belittle her in his own home. Aaliya definitely deserved better.
