Typeset in the Future: Typography and Design in Science Fiction Movies by Dave Addey
4.0
As a graphic designer and science fiction fan, this book is the perfect combination of geeky things. It consists of in-depth analyses of the typography and graphics found in several classic sci-fi movies, along with lengthy interviews with those responsible for making them, with many visual examples. My only quibble is that the book itself is not very well-designed, in my opinion. The text is often set in small, thin type in red and on dark backgrounds that make it difficult to read, and the film still frames used to illustrate many of the concepts discussed are often quite small. Otherwise, this is a book that designers and sci-fi fans will want to check out.
