The Story of a New Name by Elena Ferrante

3.0

3 ⭐️ reading this series of novels feels somewhat like watching a teen drama tv show like gossip girl. the plot is a huge engrossing web, there is so much going on at all times, the interpersonal relationships are incredibly complicated and you won’t be able to like or root for a certain character for more than two chapters in a row. at times it’s fun, sometimes you’re just frustrated because everyone is being nasty to each other 85% of the book. the characters’ actions definitely evoke that “oh no don’t go into this scary dark basement” feeling you get while watching a horror movie. all that being said, i need to find out what happens next. honestly have mixed feelings about this series because i don’t Love the writing or any of the characters, but i am so invested in the plot at this point that i can’t abandon the series.
