Oh my gosh!! What a fitting sequel to The Kind Worth Killing, which will always remain my favorite Swanson book! Henry Kimball, now a private investigator, and the ever devious Lily Kintner are back!
Since I recently read the first book, I was able to dive right into Kind Worth Saving. However, if that had not been the case, I would have gone back and re-read it to refresh my memory. With that being said, I highly recommend reading the first book to better understand the characters and storyline of this one.
Synopsis:
Private investigator Henry Kimball embarks on what seems like a routine case of following a possibly adulterous husband, only to discover a twisted trail leading back to the woman who hired him-Joan. There's always been something slightly dangerous about her. As memories of a chilling past resurface, Henry can't shake the feeling of unease when she walks into his office. What starts as a simple case of infidelity spirals into a complex web of deception when Henry uncovers two bodies in an empty suburban home. Suddenly, the past feels like it's repeating itself, and Henry must confront the darkest day of his life to uncover the truth. But as he digs deeper, he realizes Joan may be hiding secrets from that fateful day. With a killer on the loose, Henry races against time to unravel the mystery before it's too late. In this gripping game of cat and mouse, only one will emerge victorious!
In conclusion, I throughly enjoyed this darkly twisted, intense, suspenseful and unputdownable thriller that kept me guessing until the very end!! I truly hope there are more adventures in store for Lily and Henry. Their dynamic makes for such captivating storytelling, and I can't wait to see where their paths lead next!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟
