I love that Anne is a quieter, less bold heroine compared with some of Austen's other works. She is kind and smart and wishes to be in good company. This book was a bit slow to get into, I didn't feel like we got to see Anne's personality until about 2/3 of the book. Although that might be because she didn't have anyone to really engage with!
