4.5 This is a complex, frame narrative with more than one pov, unreadable narrators. Is it fun to read? Yes, reincarnation, mimicking, shifters, past lives, gods, dragons... possessing...(call what you want). Who is the brother to who or uncle or father maybe he's... uncle?
I like the main character, Jenn Lyon, who writes fun male characters. I am glad that my first contact with this author's work was Sky on Fire because it showed me that she knows where she wants to go with her characters and world building. I am definitely going to finish this series as well.
The audiobook is fun too, especially when the wizard interrupts K and T to tell us their perspective of reality of what happened is not always real.
If you want to understand all just reading once this book, you'll be frustrated.
A good start if you're preparing to Malazan series after this.
