This is a complicated romance novel with some cool magical fantasy elements. It also has some very good steamy scenes (recommend the audio book). Also the double timelines are pretty cool. There are some very dark moments of this, Breeze, our MMC has lived through some very bad moments in the South of the USA. If you want to know what its in this spoiler so you can know:
His family was burned alive and it is a horrific scene but I think it's important to have stories like this so honestly in books, it happened and we should talk about it.

One of the timelines in this book takes place in the Harlem Renaissance era and its BEAUTIFULLY portrayed.

The relationship is amazing, has tension, it's great. The only problem with this book is that there is not enough falling action. I feel like this is a very common problem in recent books. You get to the climax of the book and it just ends. You get an epilogue which is good. I just wish you got more time with them together is all.

Anyway! Recommend to romance book fans who like fantasy and also are okay/ up for reading about racism in America.
