The Golden Road by L.M. Montgomery
4.0

This is a continuation of The Story Girl. I loved reading all of the little stories and adventures of the kids. I don't know if I would have been as attached to them if I hadn't watched The Road to Avonlea series on Disney many years ago. However, I did find my heart aching at the end, so I consider that to mean that for me, it was a good read.

I gave this one 4 stars only because there are a couple of derogatory comments made about Native people. I don't know why Maud thought that it was okay to write that. And, if it had only been this book that she had done this in, I could, as a reader, think that it was a flaw in Felicity's character, and not a reflection of the author herself. After reading her journals, I am quite aware of how judgmental she was towards everyone. She was very capable of having a superior attitude when the mood struck her. It is, it turns out, a character flaw of her own.
