Delta James has shown that you don’t have to have a 400 page book to tell a really good story. This story has it all! Slow burn, possessiveness, adventure, mystery, fated mates of course, and a happy ending. She packs mystery, intrigue, passion, and powerful feelings into 80 wonderful pages.
Would I have read it if it had been 400 pages? Absofrickinlutely! Was the story complete and satisfying? Yes! Was it lacking in any area? Yes and no.
Like I said, the story is amazing, and I won’t give any spoilers, but I did find myself waiting to hear more about the pack that was near them, and more about Max’s family, but we didn’t get to see those aspects of his life. I would have also liked to have given more details about how Alexa’s people reacted to her decisions.
Ms. James has written a series of these paranormal suspense shorts, and I have no doubt they’ll be just as well written as this one.
