Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin

4.0

This novel, as short as may be, contains so much. As a queer person myself, I felt the pain of these characters. I felt the stress, and the questioning, and the complexity of relationships. Not only did Baldwin portray his queerness, he also portrayed his experience as a man-of-colour.

I’m so glad I read this book. And I would definitely urge you to pick it up if you’re queer, or if you enjoy other Baldwin’s works.
