i_ronnie 's review for:
The Seven or Eight Deaths of Stella Fortuna
by Juliet Grames
This started out strongly, but became wearying as the story went on. I largely enjoyed the parts set in Italy, and the characters were vividly drawn. However, Stella’s unceasing bad fortune (no pun intended) makes for heavy reading, and I seriously considered abandoning the book at 75%. 440~ pages of a woman being ignored, overruled, and slowly ground down is too many pages in my opinion.
Also, if I never have to read featuring incestuous paedophilia in another book it will be too soon.
