Actual Rating: 3.5– my rating is nothing against the MC’s at all, there was just something about his book that I knew from before I even picked up the book I didn’t think I’d like as much (and I was right). I loved Smith and Emilia on their own and together. I had no issues with the 10 year age gap. I continue to love the texts exchanges throughout the novel (they are so funny sometimes). I could see where both characters were coming from and the forbidden aspect of their “relationship” was a very fair reason. I do enjoy forbidden romances but idk what it was about this one that I just didn’t care for as much. I did think the ending was predictable in this, I guessed from the beginning what the resolution to them not being together would be. I still thought it was good, just not great for me, and will continue to read the last 2 books in the series!
