Hearts in Atlantis by Stephen King

2.5 stars
I never anticipated rating a piece by the King so low, but this segmented novel just was not my cup of tea. I can recognize and appreciate the quality and style of the writing here, which is up to its usual calibre, but the nature of the majority of the story just didn't manage to get me invested as a reader. That being said, I enjoyed the first section of the book, "Low Men in Yellow Coats", even if the Dark Tower tie in caught me quite off guard.
If you appreciate a coming of age/lifelong saga style novel set in the turmoil of the 1960s & the tragedy of the Vietnam War, then you'll probably enjoy the entirety of the novel far more than I did.
