The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell

5.0

literary, thoughtful, humanistic sci-fi in the vein of Le Guin. characterization was very strong. good pacing and scene structure, with easy flow between action, dialogue, and exposition. the most horrific events were tastefully described. the themes were interesting and compelling even if I didn't agree with everything. highly recommend to a very specific audience.
