The Raven King by Nora Sakavic
dark
tense
medium-paced
- Plot- or character-driven? A mix
- Strong character development? It's complicated
- Loveable characters? It's complicated
- Diverse cast of characters? No
- Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated
Ok, I admit everyone who is obsessed with this is right. After the first book I was more than scepticsl, ready to drop the entire series and not ever think about it again.
I am already on my way to read the third book now.
Is it bad? Yes.
Is this one waaaaaay more graphic and triggering for no fucking reason? Sure (it also included a torture scene with spit. I can read a lot of things but I draw the line at that, I physically recoiled it’s so disgusting.)
Finally, I did spoil myself because my fingers were itching to google any kind of info about this series. The only thing I saw was fanart on Pinterest, I think that’s relatively save for no direct spoilers. I will now read the kings men and only emerge back once I’ve finished it
