Killer Instinct by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

5.0

I wasn’t sure if the first book was a fluke or not so I had to continue in the series. It was NOT a fluke! This YA thriller series is so good! The characters and the plot compliment each other so well. In this installment a new serial killer is on the FBI’s radar and the Naturals are pulled into the active case. It’s one that strikes close to home, especially for Dean because the killer is copying Dean’s incarcerated father. Will the Naturals be able to outsmart the killer’s brutal mind games before the bodies start piling up? Cassie, Sloan, Lia, Michael, and Dean were recruited by the FBI for their natural abilities and now they’re living in a safe house working on cold cases (and active cases) as the FBI sees fit. Each of them has a special ability and each of them has a backstory I am interested in. Book 1 focused on Cassie’s story, in this one we get to know Dean more. It’s also about these young adults growing up, being able to rely on one another, friendships, and love. If you’re a fan of Criminal Minds or shows like CSI then you need to pick up this series. I can’t wait to continue in the rest of the series.
