Couldn't stop reading

Kingfisher does some of the best fantasy in the game. It's always appropriately funny and exciting.   This novel is no exception. A young bread magicker named Mona is our protagonist, she loves her Aunt, Uncle, and baking. But her life gets promptly rearranged when she is accused of a murder in their bakery. Through this they discover a plot to overthrow the Duchess of their small City State, and unfortunately for Mona, she's neck deep in it. A Wizards Guide to Defensive Baking includes Bob the sourdough starter, golden generals, inquisitors, bright green assassins, animated horse skeletons, and some VERY bad cookies.

You'll love it.
