“All creatures know love.”

Charlotte has a quiet, achingly, beautiful way of breathing in an urgency of environmental dystopia down your lungs with her storytelling. After reading her book Migrations, she became an auto buyer for me and it’s with no surprise that Once There Wolves was like no other book I’ve read before. Her words are so intimate, haunting, and left me with that profound sadness yet hope. I think I’ll always leave her novels knowing I won’t forget her characters, their stories, the animals, or how I felt after. Her reads are undeniably intense and unique but worth every page.

Once There Wolves had thriller and mystery in it but also had me gripped with the main characters synesthesia. I’d like to add that the author shows amazing relentless, devotion, and care towards our wildlife and our natural world.

“Some people need wildness in their life.”
