The fatphobia was a tough read, particularly the very specific focus on the kg weight of the main character whose body was widely commented to at a weight I, in an average European body, haven’t been since a pre-teen.
But as a social commentary on a culture I’m not very familiar with, it was an interesting read, enjoyable enough plot and I particularly liked how the main character grew from initially very isolated to developing several very different but meaningful relationships and appreciating the value of community.
