I constantly forget that this was written by Chloe Gong and I mean that in the best way possible because this is her first adult fantasy (and my first adult fantasy as well) and it was definitely an interesting one, such a big difference from her ya fantasy series where in her ya series it’s more of a “linear” plot where you can kind of predict the outcome of the main characters. I definitely understand why some people might not like it but tbh I think I’m in too deep in the Chloe Gong universe to ever think she writes something bad. Excited to read the second book!
