The Clue in the Diary #7 by Carolyn Keene

3.0

I think this is my favorite of the Nancy Drew books I've reread this year. I quite liked how the mystery played out, and wasn't quite sure how things would shake out for the majority of the book - which is saying something, considering these are written for children and the mystery is usually fairly obvious. We were also finally introduced to Ned Nickerson, who of course becomes Nancy's boyfriend. I'm really enjoying my reread of this series, and while there are problematic elements (at one point, Nancy says she'd feel more comfortable if they "had a man along" even though she's plenty capable of handling herself) throughout the series, I still find them an enjoyable romp from my childhood.
