The Bookish Life of Nina Hill
by Abbi Waxman
Nina Hill is happy with her quiet life, working in a bookstore and going to trivia nights with her friends. Then a lawyer turns up unexpectedly to inform her that the father she never knew has passed away and she has a whole extra family. With that to contend with, how can she fit Tom, her attractive trivia nemesis, into the picture?
This was a cute slice of life following Nina Hill. For all that she wanted a quiet life, she has a whole lot going on. Despite how packed with quite major events this book was, the narrative didn't feel cramped or like elements weren't explored. Her emotions were covered well, and the story flowed.
I did not like her mother's character. She came across as so dismissive of Nina's feelings. Otherwise, the characters were all likeable. They were all well written. This was a steady book, easy to read, and wholesome.
