Surviving Ice, Volume 4 by K.A. Tucker

I really enjoyed this series. This book is the last of the set and is Ivy's story. We've met Ivy previously, particularly in Chasing River and has glimpses of the fact that she's not all just the tough exterior she shows to the world.

The book starts off with Ivy and her Uncle at his tattoo shop and she ducks out to get some food for them and his client. When she returns theres a robbery going on, which turns lethal. All with Ivy as a witness hiding under a desk.

Enter Sebastian, and his task of finding what the robbers were looking for, and finding out if Ivy is a threat.

And so begins the tale of Ivy and Sebastian's romance, the secrets he's keeping, the toughness Ivy tries to hide behind starting to fall away and whether or not they will actually end up together. Amongst all this, Sebastian is trying to keep Ivy safe, the cops are trying to work out who killed her Uncle and why, and Ivy is just trying to get on with life and figure everything out.

I really loved Ivy's character. She has such spunk but deep down she's a softie. I also loved Sebastian as a character and even with what he did for work, it made sense. He had his values and in his way it was doing the right thing. Theres a sensitive side to both of them and it really seems to come out when they're together. I feel like some people may think their relationship moved fast, but as I was reading the book it wasn't what I was thinking. It seemed just right and suited both of them.

This was a great way to end the series, although I certainly wouldn't complain about getting another book which is divided into 4 sections and shows us where all the couples and characters are later in life. I think that would be really interesting as all the characters in this series have their own quirks and interesting stories.

A must read if you're a fan of the Burying Water series, just as good as the others, and an enjoyable read.
