Assassin's Apprentice Volume 1 by Jody Houser, Robin Hobb

love it as an adaptation! the choices on what to omit as narration and display as art still conveyed the full picture 

the art, that so carefully displayed all settings and environments and clothes, had a few problems for me:

  1. it does not convey the youth of the adult characters very well. at the end of the first book, verity (and by extension probably burrich as well) is in his early 30s. they do not look it
  2. the animals, who are a very important part of the story, have dubious anatomies. the panel of the newborn puppy (being fed egregiously on his back) is going to haunt me
