I have mixed feelings about this book. I thought the world was created was odd. how it was next to the human world (this is not a spoiler they literally explain this in the book). The book is split into two 'books' and the first one was not my favorite. To me, it just felt like it dragged on. A lot of information that was not necessarily needed. The second book from the actual book however I liked it picked up pace and I could not put the book down. That's is why I give it 4 stars. I think my biggest complaint is the character of Jude. Her character does not have enough development, for the most part she is placid, plain, and boring. it especially shows when she is with Cardan, which who I love. He is a dynamic character and I love it when he is drunk. Which is, most of the time. Over all i give this book a thumbs up, the first part is a struggle to get through, but set that aside it is a good book. I am excited to get my hands on a copy of the Wicked King
