This follow-up to Semiosis has nothing of the first part's depth and thoughtfulness. It pretty much seems like a bunch of incoherent ideas thrown into Pax. Events taking part in Interference are in most cases inconsequential (with one exception of the "interference" which appears twice in the book and has as little sense at the beginning as at the end) and could happen in any other sequence or be replaced by totally different proceedings without much disruption to the main plot or character development (of which there is almost none).
It would be hard to believe the book has been written by the same author as the previous book, however the flow is readable, action sucks you in, so it is a way of killing time if you need to. It's just that after reading it all you are left feeling that none of the plot made much sense.
