A lovely little book once things got going. A very strong protagonist, charming and peculiar, but then again I guess you could say the same for a lot of the cast, which maybe brought into GilmoreGirlsy who talks like this territory? I think this left me cold to begin with,  but I defrosted with the introduction of Boo, who’s a great practical narratorial counterpart to Eddy’s busy mind. In any case, I was heartened by the spirit of this book, it’s commitment to joy and community even while plumbing the depths of religion and loss. Wonderfully literary in its unravelling of character too. A lot to love!
