Homo Deus: A History of Tomorrow by Yuval Noah Harari
3.0

Harari's follow-up to Sapiens doesn't feel quite as dense, though it is a bit of a slog at times to get through. Harari's insight into capitalism and humans' dogged enthusiasm for all things tech sounds like a warning we've heard before but he states the facts of the not-so-distant future plainly. Yet he also ends on a hopeful note - that we will not choose to become gods and that many of us will continue to value the things we hold dear.
